7th - 12th Grade

The Teen Broadway Jazz dance class features a variety of jazz styles and movement qualities that explore some of the most well-known Broadway jazz forms.

Experience dance styles such as the groundedness of Hamilton to the high energy of Hairspray, the flashy classic jazz in A Chorus Line to the nuance of Hadestown. Rooted in technique, this class will offer students of varying levels the opportunity to develop proper dance practices including turns, leaps and across the floor work. Students will build a strong foundation of dance while having the opportunity to embody the characters and styles of our favorite Broadway hits.

Students in Intermediate Teen Tap will build onto their foundational skills by tackling more challenging tap sequences, executing more difficult rhythms with faster tempos, as well as adding to their tap move repertoire.

The class will explore new steps at center and across the floor and execute intermediate-level dance combinations. Students with tap experience and knowledge of basic tap steps are invited to join this intermediate class that will challenge them individually while also working towards final collaborative pieces combining all the skills learned. If you are unsure which tap level is best for you, please contact Programs Director Laura Barron, laura@wolfperformingartscenter.org.
