Illuminated Series
Our Illuminated Series returns with a bold new approach to musical storytelling with two shows - Don’t Feed the Plants and Born to Hand Jive.
-
Rooted in the idea of devised theatre, this elevated concert experience reimagines contemporary musical theatre by stripping away the traditional “produced” elements and focusing instead on the essentials: text, music, movement, story, and ensemble.
Each installment invites artists and audiences alike into an intimate theatrical space where collaboration, interpretation, and performance take the spotlight. Through adapted material, ensemble-driven creation, and inventive staging, our Illuminated Series hopes to discover new ideas within familiar works while still maintaining that important connection between performer and audience.
Rather than presenting musicals as spectacle alone, the series explores them as living, breathing pieces of theatre, shaped by the artists in the room and illuminated through a fresh, deeply human lens.
Both Illuminated Series casts of Don’t Feed the Plants and Born to Hand Jive will perform together over one weekend offering one show for audiences to enjoy!
In a tiny flower shop on the streets of Skid Row, shy Seymour discovers a mysterious little plant that promises fame and fortune but has a need to feed!
As the plant takes over the town, everyone is swept into a spooky, hilarious rock-and-roll adventure filled with catchy songs, larger-than-life characters, and plenty of surprises. This creative adaptation of Little Shop of Horrors embraces comedy, horror and the delightfully weird!

For seven years, a certain Boy Wizard went to a Certain Wizard School and conquered evil. This, however, is not his story.
This is the story of the underdogs; the often overlooked and underestimated students known as the Puffs. Set against a backdrop of spells, potions and magical creatures, Puffs is a comedic and inspiring tale for anyone who has never been destined to save the world. Filled with uproarious humor and poignant storytelling, actors will embark on the heartfelt journey of these lovable misfits as they navigate challenges, forge unlikely friendships, and discover the true meaning of loyalty and self-worth.
