Imani Alyse Redman

Imani Alyse Redman is a writer, actress, and creator originally from Jersey and currently based in Philly. She was an inaugural member of the National Young Playwright in Residence program with Echo Theatre Company in LA. She is an alumni of the advanced playwriting programs WordLab and PlayLab at Theater Development Fund (TDF) in New York City. She has won awards at both the New South Young Playwrights Festival and a National Gold Medal in the Dramatic Script category at the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards. She has worked as a teaching artist with McCarter Theatre, Theatreworks USA, Camp Half Blood, and Athens public schools. Imani uses her writing to explore the complexities of the minority, especially in relation to ethnic youth. You can find her plays on New Play Exchange. Blessings and positivity.
