Storybook Drama

 

Grades: K - 2nd

Days: Mondays, 4:30 - 5:30 pm

Dates: 13 Week Session - 1/22/18 - 4/23/18 (No class 3/26)

Tuition: Non-Member - $420; Member - $400

Learn to create characters based on beloved tales, folklore, and storybooks! Students will turn the page and dive into dramatic play while utilizing their voices, bodies, and props. Favorite characters will leap out of imaginations and be acted out in the classroom! 

Big Idea:
I can tap into theatrical aspects of books to bring common stories to life with my creativity and individuality. 

Skills learned: 

  • Learn to express emotions and relate to each other through fairytales.
  • Create their own versions of well-loved fairy-tales.
  • Bring their favorite stories to life as an ensemble.

 

Broadway Globetrotters

 

Grades: K - 2nd

Days: Thursdays, 4:30 - 5:30 pm

Dates: 13 Week Session - 1/25/18 - 4/26/18 (No class 3/29)

Tuition: Non-Member - $420; Member - $400

Take out your passports and come travel the world in this K-2nd grade class! Students will explore music from different regions of the world while using a variety of instruments for music and dance. Students will participate in group movement activities to sharpen their skills. 

Big Idea:
Throughout the world, music is a unifying experience of expressing thoughts, ideas and emotions.

Skills Learned:

  • Learn about music and dance from around the world.
  • Work with or recognize instruments that represent different musical styles.
  • Work together to create ensemble movement and musical performances.

 

Broadway Bound

 

Grades: K - 2nd

Days: Saturdays, 10:00 -11:00 am

Dates: 13 Week Session - 1/27/18 - 4/28/18 (No class 3/21)

Tuition: Non-Member - $420; Member - $400

Teacher: Heather Lemos

Take the stage and groove your way into the world of musical theatre in this singing and dancing class. Actors will learn and rehearse choreography from musical theatre songs and dances, sing a variety of tunes, and work as an ensemble to perform in a showcase all while learning history behind the music along the way!

Big Idea:
Musical theatre allows me to apply my imagination on a bigger scale to perform with self-confidence, participate collaboratively, and learn with a group.

Skills learned:

  • Learn and work with different musical theatre genres.
  • Learn about choreography and technique by dancing as a group.
  • Respond to musicical theatre songs in new ways.
