Grades: 3rd - 5th

Days: Wednesdays, 4:30 - 5:30 pm

Dates: 13 Week Session - 1/24/18 - 4/25/18 (No class 3/28)

Tuition: Non-Member - $420; Member - $400

Fine-tune your character building skills in this ensemble-making theatre class! Students will utilize improvisation, vocalization, movement, and creativity to improve their skills as an actor while creating unique and fun characters.

Big Idea:
By playing different characters onstage, I can relate to a creative ensemble as well as an audience.

Skills learned:

  • ​Communicate our own experiences through theatre-making.
  • Learn about new elements of theatre.
  • Use your voice in new ways onstage.

 

Broadway Boot Camp (3rd - 5th)

 

Grades: 3rd - 5th

Days: Thursdays, 4:30 - 5:30 pm

Dates: 13 Week Session - 1/25/18 - 4/26/18 (No class 3/29)

Get ready to BRING. IT. ON. in this musical theatre class. Students will learn songs, choreography, and the history behind Broadway’s best. While working together as an ensemble, students will rehearse their skills each week to perform in a showcase.

Big Idea:
Musical theatre helps us understand each other and relates to our own human experience.

Skills learned:

  • Learn new “show biz” vocabulary.
  • Design a musical revue with an ensemble.
  • Build off of previous rehearsals and learn new material.

 

Broadway Journeys

 

Grades: 3rd - 5th

Days: Saturdays, 10:00 - 11:00 am

Dates: 13 Week Session - 1/27/18 - 4/28/18 (No class 3/31)

Tuition: Non-Member - $420; Member - $400

Get ready for theatrical fun! This theatre class will take students on a voyage to the beginning of time (for theatre, that is!). Through performance in music and drama, actors will explore the cultural traditions that have become commonplace in stage-life today and learn to become better and more confident performers in song, movement, and performance.

Big Idea:
Learning about the traditions of theatre will inspire me to create new and exciting art of my own.

Skills learned:

  • Work together to explore historical and cultural influences of Broadway.
  • Learn about traditions in musical theatre.
  • Make stories out of plays, poetry, songs, etc.
